Why Blue Ridge, Georgia Should be Your Next Dog-Friendly Vacation

  1. Dog-friendly Cabins with Hot Tubs

There are many Airbnb cabins to choose from in the area that are dog-friendly and most have hot tubs. The one I chose was also located on a trout creek. If you wanted to leave your dog at the cabin for the day, Blue Ridge offers so many fun activities like ziplining, white water rafting, river tubing, fishing, and a drive-in theatre.

2. Dog-friendly Shopping

There are many antique and thrift stores in Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas that all allow dogs. Downtown Blue Ridge is adorable and offers tons of shops and boutiques, most of them being dog friendly.

3. Vineyards and Wineries

Blue Ridge has a few wineries, and they are all dog friendly. We went to Bear Claw, where we listened to live music and there was a food truck. Max enjoyed walking around the vineyards and playing in the stream.

4. German Town of Helen

About one hour from Blue Ridge is the german town of Helen. Helen has shopping, restaurants, live music, parks, and more. The Bavarian-style buildings are adorable. Max really enjoyed himself here. We ate at Hofbrauhaus on the patio, where there was live music. They even brought Max a hot dog! Right outside of Helen is the Unicoi State Park and a few waterfalls. I wish we had booked an overnight stay here because there was so much to do and see. However, it being within an hour of Blue Ridge we were able to drive over for the day and explore.

5. So Many Waterfalls!

There are so many dog-friendly waterfalls in and around Blue Ridge. Most of the waterfalls we visited were in the nearby Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. Using the All Trails app, you can see all of the waterfalls nearby. I love to take Max to waterfalls because in the summer it gives him the opportunity to cool off and swim. Some of the waterfalls we visited were Trahlyta Falls, Long Creek Falls, Sea Creek Falls, and Fall Branch Falls.
