- Two Lakes Trail
Two Lakes Trail is a 1 mile loop through a lush, green rainforest. This mossy, mystical trail makes its way around two small lakes and passed a small cascading waterfall. We encountered many friendly, off leash dogs on this trail. It is conveniently located right in town.

2. Downtown Shopping
Downtown Seward offers a chain of restaurants and shops. Here you can purchase souvenirs and gifts, or something for yourself. Some of the stores have dog treats. I purchased some Alaskan salmon skin treats for Max.

3. Waterfront
The waterfront consists of a rocky beach and a paved walkway along the shore known as Otter Trail. There is also a large parking lot for RV and campers to rent a spot with a view. Across from the water are beautiful mountains. The waterfront made for a lovely scenic stroll for Max’s evening walk.

4. Resurrection Art Coffee House
I would end Max’s morning walk downtown with a walk to Resurrection Art for a cinnamon bun. A church has been converted to a coffee house and offers a window for ordering, which is very convenient since dogs are not allowed inside. You can order coffee and breakfast from the window and then eat at one of their outdoor tables. They even gave Max a pup cup!

5. Tonsina Creek Trail
This 3 mile out and back trail takes you through a lush rainforest, over a bridge, and then spits you out on a shoreline. The trail consists of one steep uphill section about one mile into the trail, then leads you downhill along a series of switchbacks to a bridge. After crossing the bridge, you have access to the shoreline where you can watch the salmon swimming in the water, go for a swim, snap some stunning pictures, or take a stroll along the beach. There is also the option of continuing into more interesting forest if you bare to the right. Beware, though, the tide comes up quickly and then it is tough to get back to the bridge without getting wet! We did encounter one black bear on this trail, but Max barked at it and then it ran up a tree.
