- Centennial Park
Start with a walk around Centennial Park. The park offers 132 acres, including a one mile path around Lake Watauga. The iconic Parthenon building is located here, as well as a dog park and beautiful flowers and trees all along the park. We passed many other leashed dogs on our walk. The parking lot on the outskirts of the park is free and convenient.

2. Johnny Cash Museum
The Johnny Cash Museum allows well-behaved, leashed dogs inside the museum and gift shop. Tickets are $28 per person and dogs are free. We parked about a block away in a city parking garage that we paid around $15 for two hours. Max’s favorite part of the museum was that it was air conditioned and all the pets he got from people in the gift shop.

3. Redneck Riviera
Just around the corner from the Johnny Cash Museum is Redneck Riviera on Broadway Street. They are dog-friendly both inside the bar and up on the rooftop deck. They offered Max a treat upon entry and he loved sitting front and center in front of the band. While I enjoyed my chicken taco lunch, Max enjoyed the band and even got some pets from the lead singer! Their rooftop offers a quieter space and opens at noon.
