Dog-Friendly Mesa Verde National Park

We went to Mesa Verde National Park in March, so many of the roads and trails we wanted to do were closed. The following is an itinerary of what we were actually able to do.

  1. Park Point Trail

This is a 0.4 mile paved trail that requires a small inclined hike up to a viewing area. The scenic view at the top provides panoramic views as well as a fire lookout tower. This is the highest point in the national park.

2. Badger House Community

The trail is a 2.2 mile trail and is dog-friendly, but was closed in March.

3. Nordenskiold Site #16

Accessed via long house loop, this 1.7 mi trail was also closed in March

4. Scenic overlooks

We were able to stop at scenic overlooks along the road, like the Geologic Overlook. Some of these overlooks required a little bit of walking, which was nice so that Max could stretch h
